It's Not Really Out with the Old

Posted on March 8, 2010

The incoming Board of Directors and officers took the reins this week with a bit of flair, kicking off what many expect to be a productive and forward-moving year for ACCA. At the conclusion of Sunday’s Board meeting, outgoing Chairman Stan Johnson handed incoming Chair John Sedine ACCA’s ceremonial shovel, wishing him a year in which he rarely has to use the tool—figuratively, of course—to dig out of any holes!

Sedine brings with him a powerful line-up of officers: Joe Nichter, Tommy Castellano, Dave Kyle and Mark Swepston as vice chairmen; Bobby Ring as secretary; Laura DiFilippo as treasurer; and Ray Isaac as chair of the advisory council. Johnson, of course, will stay on board as immediate past chairman.

The ACCA membership also brought two new players to the game as well: Don Millard, Bel Red Heating and Air Conditioning, Mukilteo, Wash., and Bob Champe from Shearer Heating and Air Conditioning, Washington, Pa. Under the recently-approved amendments to the constitution and bylaws, these men will serve on the board for two years instead of one.

There was a lot of energy and momentum heading into the new leadership year as the ACCA board wrapped-up its Friday and Saturday meetings. Both incoming chair Sedine and outgoing chair Johnson spoke to Annual Conference attendees this week at the event’s general sessions.
