Diagnosing Airflow Problems

This workshop will define and explain the #1 and the #2 airflow problems in the HVAC Industry. Instructor Jack Rise will offer guidance for the lost art of choosing a blower and the myths associated with the use of a duct slide rule calculator. The ACCA Wedge will be explained, as well as the friction rate formula. The concept of total equivalent length will be discussed, as will duct fittings that serve to increase the TEL. He will also review air volume, velocity and pressure with regard to distribution system problems. Finally, he will offer a diagnostic procedure explanation, highlighting some of the more obvious problems.
