Understanding Basic DDC Controls for Commercial Systems

This session will cover basic DDC controls and their application, as well as the state of the controls industry, interoperability, energy management, and temperature control. Participants of the session will get a brief review of the history of controls from electronic and pneumatic to DDC, as well as descriptions of proprietary systems and DDC system control types like Lon Works, Modbus and Bacnet. You will learn what open systems are, and why they’re important to your customer, as well as common hardware inputs, outputs, and controllers. Basic and graphical software programming will also be covered, as the program will wrap-up with a visiting a live monitoring site, via the internet, with an operating HVAC system.
