Optimizing Points for LEED
Ellis Guiles, TAG Mechanical
Integrated design is a critical part of the LEED rating system, and yet many architects, engineers and contracting firms are bombarded with marketing claims asserting that a certain product, service or technique will help them achieve a given LEED rating level. This session work through several examples of real projects to show how points are actually earned, especially in Energy and Atmosphere Credit 1 – Optimize Energy Performance. You’ll learn what HVACR contractors really need to look at and what truly makes a building more efficient and ultimately green. Cutting through the marketing hype, this session looks at how sometimes the most simple things can make a building substantially more efficient now and long into the future.
